Mother, educator, student, empowerment coach, writer, recording artist - just a few attributes to describe this veteran newcomer, known as Superheroine Oriana Lee. Residing in Memphis, by way of the Music City, Oriana Lee's roots run deep beneath the surface of what seems to be a forever shallowing art form. Blending seamlessly together limbs of Hip Hop, Southern Soul, Spoken Word and Funk - somewhere between what once was and what should be the direction of the culture - is the refreshingly cool warmth of an artist on the rise. If not familiar with Oriana Lee, do yourself a favor and delve into her past work, which includes a pair of EP's - the self-titled "Oriana Lee EP" and the "Something to Cop" EP. The latter, released in 2006, is available digitally worldwide.

On the upcoming debut album "Coming Back A Champion", Oriana's knowledge of self and worldly wisdom bleed through her lyrics into the cracks of the culture. OMGoodness filled ear drums! The final product is incredibly sound and extremely refreshing. Shining a welcoming light of truth, she speaks to the listener with great depth and scholastic understanding, while, yet, extending herself to the listener on a very personal and intimate level. Oriana Lee displays her crafty wordplay with a driving force of realness that's bound to leave an impression on anyone breathing the day to day struggles of life in the now. Flowing seamlessly over heavy soundscapes, produced by Premo D'Anger (FreeSol) and The Dirty Cabin Crew. The production is very tight and the lyrics are such a nice balance of serious yet fun, filled with real world trials and tribulations that illuminate throughout the album, along with guest shot being filled by her very own daughter, Kana Eshe'.

To those already in the know, the Superheroine's debut album is everything you've been anticipating. For those just getting to know Oriana Lee, look no further for that soothing freshness your ears have been itching to hear. Two words sum up "Coming Back A Champion": Heavy Rotation. -Charles "Chuck The Barber" Kiskadden
